Fantastic Stay!

friendly staffcosy doublebreakfast inclusionchic bar
The welcome was super from the friendly staff. I stayed in a cosy double room, beautifully presented and offering everything I needed (it was worth the climb!). Breakfast is included if you book directly, a great bonus I found. The bar area was chic with helpful staff and many food and drink choices.
I had to climb a lot of stairs to reach my room, which might be difficult for some guests.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel rooms feature modern decor and are very clean. They include tea and coffee making facilities with fresh supplies daily, plus large, soft towels in the bathrooms.
Location
10/10
The location is central and ideal for accessing the rail station. Historic attractions are within easy walking distance and make exploring easy (no need for taxis!).
Dining

Food options are fantastic and varied with good vegan and vegetarian choices. The breakfast menu included a garden breakfast, which is a veggie full English, plus the staff were knowledgable about craft ales.
Service

Staff members are friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to assist with requests. I asked for a fan, and they happily provided one promptly. The service really made the stay memorable.

Historical Charm and Modern Comfort

historical featurescomfortable bedproper wardrobemodern bathroom
The hotel includes two converted town houses, showcasing many historical features. Signs are present throughout the hotel with details of this history. I found a collection of pictures and photographs displayed, documenting local history. My room featured a comfortable bed, a proper wardrobe with hangers, and a well-fitted bathroom.
I noticed slight fluctuations in the shower's water temperature at times, which i presume was due to demand.
Service
9/10
The service was quick and attentive during my dinner in the restaurant; each table has a button to summon staff. Staff skills extended to professionally dealing with hotel guests in addition to serving in the bar, which i thought was good.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel is located a convenient ten-minute walk from the train station, situated on the edge of the shopping area. I did notice that there are three floors with no elevator, so guests should be aware of the many stairs (something to consider when booking).
Dining
9/10
Dinner in the restaurant was good; the food tasted delicious and was served hot. Breakfast included tea, coffee, and juice available for self-service. I noted a good selection of cooked food was available to order; breakfast is included when you book directly.

The room was lovely. i liked that there was a night entrance. I did not have to walk through the restaurant every time (it felt more private). the location was perfect with really easy access to everything i needed.
i found the room too hot. the window is restricted, so i could not open it wide to get more air in. thankfully, a fan was supplied in the room. the decor was a bit tired with marks on the wall and ceiling (i also noticed cobwebs).
